SENDING SEASON'S GREETINGS!

IMG_2647.jpg

omg it’s november! HAPPY FREAKIN’ HOLIDAYS, PEOPLE! although the crazy days still seem slightly off in the distance, it’s definitely time to start thinking about sending out holiday cards. if you’re anything like me, somehow it becomes december 15th + christmas is ten days away + you haven’t even thought about taking a christmas card photo yet. this year, i’m vowing to get an early jump on things — i just recently discovered basic invite + i can already tell it’s gonna be a game changer :)

i’ve always been a fan of writing letters + sending cards, + the holiday season gives me the perfect excuse. when i was younger, i was always the one in charge of gathering up the family, directing the holiday photos, putting the card together, + using my mom’s credit card to order them ;) this year, my roommates + i are planning on ordering a few cards to send out, + basic invite’s selections are almost too good to choose from! they’ve got foil, they’ve got practically unlimited colors, they’ve got over 500 different designs, + that’s just for their unique christmas cards alone!

are you thinking of sending out a holiday card this year? i always love getting them in the mail; we used to display them all over the house as a kid — it was always a big deal hanging the first one, haha! thankfully, we’re getting the jump early! head to basic invite’s site + start browsing their holiday photo cards 2018! i seriously cannot get over how cute their designs are. picking just one this year is going to be a biiiiig challenge. ALSO, they are offering 30% off their holiday styles — use the code “HOLI30” at checkout + slay the holiday card game. cheers to november + the most wonderful time of the year!

LIFE UPDATE | I'M BACK!

native knot-3.jpg

i've been trying to motivate myself to write this post for weeks. WEEEEEEEKS. with my first year of college coming to an end + stresses of studying for finals, taking finals, packing up, moving to chicago for the summer, searching for a job, + saying goodbye to friends, i've lost some interest in this little site. i've continued posting on instagram [because i'm addicted, let's face it], but it's seriously bringing me down! i've considered just retiring T+T all together because i was [+ still am] rapidly losing followers, engagement, + more with seemingly no explanation. i'm also not even sure if anyone will ever read this post. maybe my mom will [hi mom!]. BUT, i love this brand i've built from the ground up as well as the creative outlet it provides me with. i can't quit this place. anywayyyy, lets get on to the update, shall we?!

native knot-2.jpg

i believe the last life update i wrote was about me heading to college, + this one is about me leaving college - haha! these past 8/9 months have been amazing. so challenging, but full of growth + new friendships + so much learning. the relationships i formed within the first week of school have proved to last + i often find myself wondering how i ever lived life without them. i was re-introduced to god in a whole different way + have strengthened my relationship with him tenfold, + am still learning/growing. i also began my first semester [of 7] of nursing classes, + it is safe to say that it is 100% my calling. the 12 hour hospital shifts quickly began to fly by as my peers + i learned our way around the floor, became friend with the nurses, + began to learn how to care for every aspect of a patient's being. it got to a point in the semester where i felt like i just couldn't learn anymore - my brain felt too full. like i literally could not put any more information into my head! but, the year is over + summer is here + i've got some time to decompress, thank. the. lord. :)

on the T+T aspect of things, i have begun to reach out to different brands for collaboration partnerships + to share amazing companies with my friends + followers! i am hoping to really kick it up a notch this summer in hopes of sharing even more awesome brands with you all :) - [side note: if you're a brand + are looking to collab, email me!!] i also hope to do more photoshoots, DIYs, recipes, + more - essentially just get the blog back to where it was + push it forward even further!

anyway, life has been crazy but life has been good. i'm looking forward to this new season of the blog, to summer, + to the potential that it holds. i hope you all are doing well! + thank you thank you again for reading, supporting, following along on my crazy journey through life, + for finding what i share interesting enough to come back, ha!

MY WEEKDAY MORNING ROUTINE

tresemme morning-14.jpg

morning routines! i feel like i'm not even worthy to share mine because it's usually so quick, haha! if you've been following this blog for a while, you would've heard me mention multiple times how i'm not super into makeup or hair - i can usually get by with some drugstore gems! BUT, i thought i'd document what goes on during my weekday mornings + share with you all the products i'm currently using, including  the most amazing new hairspray from tresemme!!

tresemme morning-4.jpg

after waking up, the first thing i do is make my bed. picking up the pillows off the floor + straigntening out the creases of my duvet is a simple way to keep my bedroom looking neat + tidy. i'll then go brush my teeth + wash my face, which usually takes about 10 minutes. then i'll come back + open the window for some fresh air + pick out an outfit for the day. if it's a day where i'm really in a hurry, i'll usually set out the clothing the night before.

next comes makeup. usually i'll moisturize after washing my face, but if i'm extra tired + need a little facial pick-me-up, then i'll use glossier's super glow serum before. after making sure my face is hydrated, i'll dab on some powder to remove shine, fill in my brows, + darken my lashes. then i'll add some color onto cheeks + lips. [see some of my favorite lip colors here!]

finally, i move onto hair. usually i'll keep my natural hair + i almost never brush it, or else it kinda explodes, ya curly hair girls fee me?! if i think it needs a little touch up or i'm just really feelin' fancy, i'll throw in a few soft waves. i finish it off with a few sprays of tresseme's new compressed micro-mist hairspray! i have the boost version, + i seriously love how it provides amazing hold + volume, but without being stiff or crunchy! not to mention that the design + bottle are super stylish.

+ that's seriously it! takes only about 10-15 minutes every morning, which means i sleep in as late as possible, haha! if you want to try out tresemme's new compressed micro-mist hairspray, click here! it's also available at walmart, which is a total win! cheers to quick + easy morning routines! i'd love to know yours! comment here or head to my instagram + let me know what you wake up to! happy tuesday! =)
